GM Motorsport reworked what a performance header can be. The REX design delivers true long-tube, equal-length performance in a compact footprint that keeps factory ground clearance.
Why it works
Triple-stepped primary design
Each primary steps up through three diameters — 1¾″ to 1⅞″ to 2″ — keeping exhaust airspeed high where it matters. Stronger torque and instant throttle response, without giving up top-end flow.
Twin high-flow cats
Both banks feed straight into high-flow catalytic converters — 100-cell metal or 400-cell ceramic — that clean up the exhaust without strangling it. You keep the cats and you still get the flow.
Fits the factory space
True long-tube primary length while retaining factory ground clearance. CNC-cut, CAD-modelled flange plates and a bolt-on fit to any factory-outlet cat-back, including XForce twin 2.5″ and 3.0″.

Will these fit my VE or VF? +
Yes — they fit every VE & VF V8 Commodore, including supercharged HSV variants running factory oil coolers. Choose your cat size and material above.
Do I need a custom cat-back? +
No. The REX headers bolt straight onto any factory-location cat-back, including XForce twin 2.5″ and 3.0″ systems. Any cat-back that begins from the factory outlet will bolt directly on — no modifications needed.
Will I lose ground clearance? +
No. The triple-step design achieves true long-tube primary length while retaining factory ground clearance, so there are no clearance issues on a standard VE or VF.
Do I need O2 sensor extensions? +
An O2 extension may be needed. VE Series 1 & 2 and VF Series 1 — square-plug harness. VF Series 2 — triangle-plug harness. VF Series 2 staying on the factory cat-back: you will need to weld an O2 bung to the factory cat-back, and you will require 1 O2 extension. Not sure which one you need? Call 03 9746 6656.
Metal or ceramic cats? +
The 100-cell metal core suits most builds; the 400-cell ceramic core is also available. Both are high-flow.
