Description
The Ramjet REX Triple-Stepped Headers & Cats for the Holden VE & VF Commodore V8 deliver true long-tube, equal-length performance in a compact footprint that retains factory ground clearance. The triple-step primary design (1¾" → 1⅞" → 2") maintains exhaust airspeed for stronger torque and instant throttle response, and bolts straight to any factory-location cat-back — no custom fabrication or O2 extensions needed. Built from 304 stainless steel with race-merge collectors.

Long-Tube Power, No Ground Clearance Compromise
GM Motorsport reworked what a performance header can be. The REX design delivers true long-tube, equal-length performance while still fitting a compact space — and the rear primaries are longer than anything currently available, giving a unique edge in exhaust flow and power delivery. Experience all the gains of a long-tube header without the usual headaches: serious power and throttle response, clean install with factory ground clearance, no custom cat-back required, race-merge collectors and 304 stainless construction.
Key Features & Benefits
- Triple-step primary design (1¾" → 1⅞" → 2") — maintains airspeed for stronger torque and instant throttle response.
- Fits every VE & VF V8 Commodore — including supercharged HSV variants running factory oil coolers.
- Equal-length “spaghetti” concept — near-perfect equal lengths for optimal scavenging.
- Long-tube power in a compact footprint — true long-header primary length without O2 extension or clearance issues.
- CNC-cut, CAD-modelled flange plates — exact port alignment for improved flow and sealing.
- Longest primary lengths available for cylinders 7 & 8 — ideal for extracting maximum power under high load.
- Works with all existing factory-outlet cat-backs — no custom fabrication required.
- Suits mild street to high-boost builds — naturally aspirated or forced-induction.
- Race-merge collectors & premium 304 stainless finish for clean fitment and appearance.
Recommended Cat-Back Pairings (XForce, factory outlet)
- Sedan & Wagon, 2.5": XForce twin 2.5" cat-back
- Sedan & Wagon, 3.0": XForce twin 3.0" cat-back
- Ute, 2.5": XForce stainless twin 2.5" cat-back
- Ute, 3.0": XForce stainless twin 3.0" cat-back
Any cat-back that begins from the factory outlet will bolt directly to the REX Headers & Cats — no modifications needed.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will these fit my VE or VF? Yes — they fit every VE & VF V8 Commodore, including supercharged HSV variants running factory oil coolers.
Do I need a custom cat-back? No. They bolt straight onto any factory-location cat-back, including XForce twin 2.5" and 3.0" systems.
Will I lose ground clearance? No — the triple-step design achieves true long-tube primary length while retaining factory ground clearance.
Metal or ceramic cats? 100-cell metal core suits most builds; 400-cell ceramic core is also available. Both are high-flow.

RAMJET
Ramjet Technology
Triple Stepped Primaries
Ramjet triple-stepped headers are engineered to deliver performance across the entire rev range- not just at peak RPM.
Starting with a smaller primary diameter near the cylinder head, they maintain high exhaust gas velocity for improved low-end torque and sharper throttle response. As the gases travel through each step, the increasing diameter reduces restriction and supports stronger top-end power.
The stepped design also enhances pressure wave tuning, improving exhaust scavenging and overall engine efficiency. The result is a broader, more responsive powerband and a clean, aggressive exhaust note that sets Ramjet apart from conventional straight headers
Performance Technology
Race Merge Collector
The Ramjet race merge collector improves exhaust performance by smoothly guiding exhaust gases from multiple primary pipes into a single outlet, reducing turbulence and pressure reversion.
This creates stronger exhaust scavenging, helping pull spent gases out of the cylinders more efficiently, which improves cylinder filling on the next intake cycle.
The result is increased exhaust gas velocity, stronger mid-range and top-end power, a cleaner and more efficient power curve, and a sharper, more refined exhaust note
F.A.Q.
Will these headers bolt straight up?
These headers are designed to bolt up to any cat-back system that connects to the factory headers and catalytic converters, including brands like Xforce, Empire, and Manta.
However, some Manta systems may not start at the standard connection point and could require a connector pipe.
We recommend contacting Manta to confirm compatibility or whether a Manta-specific connector pipe is needed
Can these be delivered to my house?
These headers and cats can be delivered straight to your door or workplace.
Are the Ramjet headers easy to install?
Yes, the Ramjet headers and cats are straightforward to install. In some cases, you may need to check clearance on the driver’s side K-frame.
Ensure there’s roughly a 5mm gap between the header and the K-frame.
If clearance is tight, you may need to fit new engine mounts to slightly raise the engine, or gently massage the header with a soft hammer to achieve the required clearance
How long will shipping take?
If the headers are in stock, they’ll be dispatched within 1–2 business days.
How To Return My Items?
We offer returns only if the headers are faulty.
If a fault is suspected, the item must be returned for inspection. Once confirmed by our team, a full refund will be issued.
